Decentralised Remote I/O System .

Decentralised remote I/O system Turck Banner has introduced a decentralised remote I/O system for use in Zone 1 hazardous areas, called Excom. The compact, modular system replaces traditional cumbersome and expensive parallel I/O, and integrates directly into an installation via standard industrial fieldbus connections. Features include redundant power supplies and gateways, intrinsically safe connection to Profibus-DP with V1 functionality, on-line parameter setting and configuration, consistent and transparent HART parameterisation from the control to the device level, hot-swappable components and 128 digital or 64 analogue channels via a single bus address.
