Can Inspection Machine .

Can inspection machine Sencon's new X-Seam analyser is a can inspection machine that uses X-rays to generate images of a filled can at a number of points around the seam. An image processor measures each of these points to the nearest 0.001mm, and a report is produced, based on pre-determined standards. It takes about 70 seconds to inspect one can in this way. The motion control elements were supplied by Trio Motion Technology and comprise MC202 Motion co-ordinator, two CAN 16 I/O modules and one CAN analogue input module. These control input and output can conveyors a vacuum lift transfer system and a chuck assembly that clamps the can and moves it towards the X-ray head. Apart from the chuck, which is moved by a stepper motor, all other movements are pneumatically actuated.
