Ethernet and DeviceNet fieldbus
TM robotics has released new Ethernet and DeviceNet fieldbus systems for
its SCARA and Cartesian robots, which connect to Toshiba's SR7000
controller. The DeviceNet interface can be used for 'local' tasks such as
exchanging data with measuring devices in a pick-and-place arrangement,
while the Ethernet interface (which can be attached to an existing TCP/IP
Ethernet network, built into an independent control network or used with
a PC or industrial controller) sends the results of these measurements to
a host computer for local display or statistical process control strategy.
