NSK has introduced a hybrid bearing with ceramic balls that offers long life and electrical insulating properties for wind turbine power train applications. These bearings fulfil wind power industry specifications for durability and long service life (over 20 years), even in adverse operating conditions, including high wind loads, moisture and temperature fluctuations. NSK uses high-purity bearing steels for its wind sector products. Special materials are also used for specific requirements, such as Super-TF steel, which was developed for precisely this application profile. With these new products, NSK says it can now offer a full range of bearings for the entire wind turbine power train.
