models, covering a wide range of applications such as backing
turbomolecular pumps, evacuating vacuum ovens and powering gas analysers
and filtration systems. These oil-free units create vacuum down to 4mbar
at flow rates of up to 168 litre/min, and offer a considerable
improvement in reliability over oil-sealed rotary types and membrane
pumps. Welch's Wob-L design is well proven, with examples in medical
applications achieving lifespans in excess of 25,000 hours continuous
