Self-Reversing Machined Screws Provide Reciprocating Lateral Movement

Abssac has introduced a range of self-reversing screws from 10 to 180mm in diameter, in a variety of materials, including carbon, alloy and stainless steels, to a maximum length of 6m. Unlike the traditional lead screw and nut combination, the self-reversing screw does not require the driven screw to change its direction of rotation to enable the nut to return to its original start position. The reciprocated bi-directional lateral movement is achieved by using a follower blade on the nut that is matched to the particular groove width and screw turn round on the screw. Gear ratios of 4:1 and 2:1 are offered for a wide range of applications requiring a reciprocating lateral movement. Back to January 2004 Menu
