New joystick with adjustable tactile feel

A new joystick optical encoder with an adjustable tactile feel is now available in the UK from EAO. The 60AD from premiere US manufacturer, Grayhill, offers one advantage over other encoders: the feel of joystick can be adjusted between low, medium and high actuation forces.

This is a simple and low-cost way for system builders to match the feel of the device to the application. For instance, where it is critical to navigate a device at speed a low actuation force may be preferable, whereas in a wheelchair application a greater force may be required to prevent accidental operation.

Two versions are available, either a four or eight direction joystick, along with options for different cable lengths and types of termination including PCB pin and solder lugs.

The 60AD is suitable for any rotate-and-click navigation devices, particularly within aerospace, medical and automotive applications.
