Spelsberg's flexible AKi range of modular polycarbonate junction boxes is
helping Andromeda Telematics to configure building automation systems of
any complexity, quickly and efficiently. The boxes attach to one another
in any configuration using a novel connecting bar arrangement
(illustrated), so one range of enclosures can form the foundation of a
whole control system that can be easily adapted as needs dictate. Once a
panel has been designed, the boxes are position in the desired
configuration, cable gland knockouts and square joining holes are matched
up, punched through and secured by inserting bars through the joining
holes. The bars are then fixed using wedge-shaped pins, which exert a
pulling action against a pre-cut adhesive gasket as they push into
position, forcing the two units together and sealing the boxes to IP65.
