A safety brake for any vertical or gravity loaded axis, the ROBA topstop, is a new fully sealed, drive side mounted brake from Mayr Power Transmissions. The EN ISO13849 1 compliant, compact and lightweight unit can be easily retrofitted to existing servo systems to prevent uncontrolled vertical movements in a power off or emergency stop situation.
ROBA-topstop is available as a single or double circuit brake with either a shaft output to connect to a gearbox or an integrated plug-in coupling to allow connection directly to a ball screw.
Available in three standard sizes ranging from 12Nm to 170Nm, ROBA-topstop offers safe and reliable braking even with the motor removed.
The housing is sealed to IP54 and flanges can be easily adapted to any application.
