The new E30 fire protection hood from Spelsberg UK protects junction
boxes and wiring for a minimum of 30 minutes following the outbreak of
fire or exposure to extreme temperatures. When exposed to flames or
excessive heat, replaceable thermo-expanding pads seal the unit,
protecting any cabling or junction box contained within it. The hood is
made from polycarbonate and is supplied in one size only. It is attached
to a wall via four pegs inserted through external lugs, allowing junction
boxes of 140x140x79mm or less, routing 2.5 to 10mm2 cables, to be
effectively covered.
