Compression Latch Is Flush With Design

Southco Europe's 'Vise Action' compression latch is suitable for applications requiring a flush latch surface to avoid snagging. Two mounting disks make installation quick and easy from the back of a door through a simple round hole. One disk keeps the latch in place while the second is used to adjust the latch in a full flush position. Industries from electronics to telecommunications and even railway carriage builders can draw benefit from Vise Action, which operates in a single half turn, first locking the door and then pulling it up tight. The latch applies consistent pressure to achieve 6.4mm compression of environmental or EMI gaskets. The latch is unusual in that the pawl pulls up against, or perpendicular to the frame, rather than rotating behind it. A pawl rotating behind a door can cause grinding and eventual corrosion.
