Real Time, Non-Contact Torque Measurement

Sensor Technology will take advantage of this year's mtec platform to launch its innovative E400 non-contact, real time torque measuring device. Using surface acoustic wave devices as frequency dependent strain gauges to measure the change in resonant frequency caused by strain in the drive shaft, the E400 offers digital and analogue outputs for torque, speed and power. The unit can be connected to a PC via serial or USB interfaces, and offers in-built peak torque sampling, storage and torque averaging. Back to January 2004 Menu
