Sensor wiring time almost halved with new connector
A reduction of 40% or more in the time it takes to wire sensors and
similar devices, is claimed for the new Snap-C connector from Schneider
Electric brand, Telemecanique. All that is required is to trim back the
cable outer sheath, insert the cores into the connector and tighten. No
stripping is needed and no tools are required.
The connectors have a high-grade plastic body with a metal locking ring,
and offer IP67 protection. They can be used over the temperature range
-25 to +70°C and have a maximum current rating of 4A. Contact resistance
is significantly lower than that of traditional sensors at less than
8milliohm.
