Discriminating colour regardless of surface finish
The new Osiris XUR true colour sensor from Schneider Electric can
discriminate accurately and reliably between even closely similar
colours, regardless of any change in the surface finish of targets. The
device has two operating modes: run mode, which allows products to be
sorted by colour, and tolerance mode, when it is set to detect precise
shades - eg colour matching of paints and inks.
The units operate reliably at rates as high as 1.2kHz, so they can be
used on fast production lines. Their rugged, IP67 rated construction
allows use in a variety of tough applications, while the solid state
light sources, providing around 100,000 hours operating life, ensure
long, maintenance free service.
