Safety relays: pay only for the functionality you need
Protect SRB is a new generation of multi-function safety relay modules
from Schmersal, supplied initially in seven models. Each model offers
different levels of functionality, allowing purchasers to specify the
correct relay for an application without paying for unwanted or
unnecessary functions. All Protect SRB modules are suitable for Caegory 4
installations, compliant with EN954-1.
The basic model in the family meets around 80% of all application needs,
and is the most cost efficient. Suitable for emergency stop control and
interlocking devices, and P-switching semiconductor outputs, the unit
features a 22.5mm wide housing, choice of one or two channels, three
safety enabling outputs and LED status indication.
Other modules include versions for two-handed controls, a multi-output
module with 8-bit digital output for remote status monitoring, and a
version with delay enabling contacts for Category 1 stop requirements.
