Schaffner’s PowerStar 5 Windows based power supply test software uses
programming and calculation techniques that are capable of reducing test
times by up to 50%. With a library of over 100 standard ready-to-use
tests, PowerStar 5 allows engineers to create complete functional test
programs in a fraction of the time normally required to build and debug
test routines.
Traditional ATE software allows the user to set-up a sequence of tests
which are saved and executed when required, this new software implements
each test in turn by allowing the unit to settle to the appropriate
state, taking the required measurements and logging the results. Each
measurement is performed only once and the power supply unit passes
through each state change only once.
Measured values are stored and made available to a series of evaluation
tests, which calculate the required results, while a graphical interface
allows engineers to create anything from a simple start/stop button for
production test operators, to a complete virtual instrument control panel
