Rockwell Automation has introduced the 1756 ControlLogix processor and Sercos combination motion module, which provide a lower cost option for applications with three axes or less. A cut-down version of the fully featured ControlLogix platform, 1756 nonetheless offers 38 motion instructions, including cams, interpolation, flying shear and so on, and it supports ladder, function block, sequential function chart and structured text programming languages.
