Rockwell Broadens Terminal Block Offering

Allen-Bradley 1492 series terminal blocks, from Rockwell Automation, are now available in three connection types: screw, IDC (insulation displacement connector) and spring clamp. The range has also undergone a number of design improvements to boost ratings, reduce overall size and add new features such as multiple jumper channels on some feed-through blocks to speed the installation process and improve neatness. Complementing the new terminals is a new ink-jet printer based marking system called Fast Track that is able to produce high quality printed markers twice as fast as the earlier plotter based system. Allen-Bradley AB Print software comes bundled with the Fast Track printer, and allows any type of custom marker to be produced in a variety of fonts and layout styles. More than 40 different pre-wired cable assemblies and terminal modules are available as part of the 1492 range, which Rockwell claims can halve the point-to-point wiring required between I/O modules, sensors and actuators.
