Windows Ce Based, Two-Channel Machine Vibration Data Collector

Rockwell Automation Entek has introduced a Windows CE based, two-channel machine vibration data collector that is capable of taking vibration level readings in two axes over the range 0.16Hz to 40kHz. The Enpac 1200 has an integral laser tachometer that enables the phase angle of a shaft to be measured at the same time as recording its vibration. All the operator has to do is apply a small piece of reflective tape to the shaft. The two-channel instrument can also be used to collect separate vibration readings from two coupled pieces of machinery, such as a pump and motor. Observation of the phase angle between these readings indicates specific malfunctions such as misalignment. Data stored can be downloaded to a PC and analysed using Entek's Emonitor Odyssey software.
