ControlLogix system
Rockwell's ControlLogix system is able to handle both motion and
sequential control from a single platform A single software package
covers all requirements, so there is no need to write separate code for
communications between the sequential and motion controlling elements. By
connecting the drives in a multi-axis configuration via Sercos, the
entire system can be programmed and commissioned from a single point,
saving a lot of engineering time and effort. Compare this to the more
conventional separate PLC, motion controller and servo drives, an
arrangement that requires three different pieces of software and - very
likely - different types of serial connection!
