Rittal has extended its Slim-Box product range to include a new
high-density horizontal solution for CompactPCI and VME systems builders.
All 32 models in the horizontal mounting range are equipped for 6U front
plug-in boards and include fans for left to right side cooling. Options,
available as standard configurations, include provision for rear I/O
transitions, plug-in hot swap or ATAX power supplies, and 'neutral'
systems without a backplane that increase customer choice.
The systems are constructed in steel and can be configured as 19in rack
mounting units or, without mounting flanges, as desk or bench top
systems. Inside the units, each 1U height is equipped with four coded
guide rails, creating two standard (4HP) slots. Additional models offer
80mm rear I/O (CPCI) or 160mm rear I/O (VME). The neutral system can be
supplied with any suitable backplane, including VME64x and switched
fabrics such as PICMG 2.16 or 2.17.
