New perfluoroelastomer seal material has wide operating temperature range

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions' new Isolast J9876 perfluoroelastomer is claimed to provide the most comprehensive media resistance at elevated temperatures of any perfluoroelastomer on the market. The seal material has a continuous operating temperature range from -7°C to + 275°C with occasional peaks up to +315°C. Specifically developed to cover applications in mixed chemical streams, including acids, bases, amines, steam, ethylene and propylene oxides, the material’s media resistance at high temperatures means it has excellent long-term physical property retention. The compound is available in all O-Ring sizes, as gaskets, moulded parts or rubber-to-metal bonded components, including door and gate seals.
