A new range of power transmission couplings that is capable of working at
temperatures up to 200degC has been introduced by Renold Hi Tec
Couplings. The High Temperature Blind (HTB) assembly coupling is suitable
for use in diesel engine bell housings and features ease of assembly with
no fasteners, intrinsic fail-safe operation and 50% less stiffness
compared with couplings of similar torque capacity. HTB will initially be
available in four frame sizes, in the 1.2 to 10kN range, suitable for
mounting on flywheels from SAE 11.5 to 21. The slim profile coupling is
bi-directional, lubricant-free and quiet running.
