Renold Hi-Tec Couplings has developed a rubber-in-compression coupling
and universal joint assembly for power transmission applications that
suffer a high level of misalignment. The new HTBUJ coupling transmits
torque between a diesel engine and a driven interface in situations where
the two cannot be aligned accurately, where there is distance between the
two, or where one can move radially or axially in relation to the other.
The flexible coupling, which has a capacity of 6,000Nm, also controls
torsional vibration and provides damping for the drive train. It will
accept DIN, SAE and MECHANICS flanges and is approved by Lloyds, DNV and
ABS for marine propulsion and auxiliary drives.
