Renold Hi-Tec Couplings has introduced the RB blind assembly coupling for
torque transmission between diesel engines and alternators. Suitable for
torque levels up to 314Nm, the RB configuration isolates the generator
from the engine, leaving the torsional characteristics of the engine
unaffected. It is claimed to be quick and easy to install inside bell
housings, and can be adapted to suit most engine flywheels. The unit is
instrinsically failsafe and effectively damps resonant torsional
vibration.
