Novel housing isolates gearbox from shock and vibration
Following a recent customer request, Reliance Gear Company has come up
with a neat solution to protecting one of its miniature size 11 speed
reducers from the effects of shock and vibration. Instead of using the
gearbox housing as a simple cover, it is designed as a support structure
for the internal components. Its high stiffness also allows additional
devices, such as potentiometers and resolvers, to be supported by this
structure, removing the need for additional separate supports. Reliance's
size 11 speed reducer offers ratios from 9:1 to 3,600:1, output torque of
5Ncm (10Ncm peak) and backlash of less than 30 arc minutes.
