Laser distance sensor measures up to 200m with 3mm accuracy

The new AMS200 distance sensor from Leuze electronic uses laser optics and a reflector to measure distances of up to 200m to a tolerance of 3mm. The large distances seen on warehouse stacker cranes and lifts, or on gantry cranes are easily served by the AMS200, which supports either RS232, Profibus and SSI, or RS232 and InterBus connectivity. Programming is simplified by the availability of GSD files.

Using the AMS 200 is simple with its integrated control panel, and its high visibility display. Even when powered up straight out of the box and pointed at a compatible reflector, it will show the distance reading without any setup. Additionally, the unit will calculate and display speed values.

Integral heating allows the unit to be used at temperatures as low as -30°C. And if the installation requires it, a mirror unit providing 90° of deflection for the laser avoids fouling by falling debris.
