Now available from ifm electronic are larger versions of the company's SM Series Magmeter, which was launched a year ago. This magnetic inductive flow meter is designed to detect the flow rate of conductive media and can now measure flows of up 50litre/m (SM7 series) and 100litre/m (SM8 variant). The SM Magmeter’s stainless steel, mechanically-robust design is mounted in-line providing a compact, low-profile installation for process control.
The sensor offers a 4-digit numeric display with eight integrated LEDs that together indicate the flow rate, total volume, and temperature of all conductive media. Simple pushbutton programming quickly establishes application parameters and the flow meter can be set up to provide a switching output, analogue output or pulsed output.
The basic unit is calibrated in SI units, while for those exporting to USA for example, further devices calibrated in gallon or Fahrenheit can be supplied.
The sensor offers high accuracy with a response time of less than 0.15 seconds and a repeatability of ±0.2%. Electrical connection is made through an M12 connector.
