Puls Reduces Size Of New Smps By 55%

Puls has introduced a range of DIN-rail mounting switched mode power supplies (SMPS), which not only take up 55% less panel space, but also achieve efficiencies of up to 95%. There are five models in the new Dimension Q-Series, three for single-phase operation (24V/3A, 24V/5A, 24V 10A) and two for three-phase operation (24V/20A, 24V/40A). The three-phase QT20 with a typical operating efficiency of 94.8%, for example, has a width of 65mm - a reduction of 57% in DIN-rail requirement compared with the Puls SilverLine model that it replaces. All Dimension Q-Series power supplies can react to load fluctuations, and are able to deliver up to 50% additional power for 4s when required. They also feature active power factor correction and have the ability to start at any temperature from -40oC to +70oC. Thanks to their high efficiency, these power supplies remain cool, ensuring a long life for the electrolytic capacitors. Indeed, so confident is Puls in the reliability of this new power supply range that it quotes the minimum life of each unit at 50,000 hours and offers a three-year warranty.
