‘Pay-As-You-Go’ Simulation On The Internet

As part of the new Ansys 5.7 package, computer aided engineering specialist, Ansys will be launching its e-SIM strategy, a range of ‘pay-as-you-go’ simulation services that takes full advantage of the Internet. The web based distributed simulation environment enables several parties to collaborate on a design project without having to leave their desks or offices. Moreover, it allows departments to amortise the cost of simulation resources across the enterprise. The development is part of a range of Internet based initiatives recently launched by the company. Others include application service provider (ASP) hosting and application support distributor (ASD), the former allowing access to powerful computers and storage systems via the Internet, the latter providing customised vertical market solutions for users working in highly specialised areas.
