to see the latest sheet metal fastening systems from Profil UK. Among
these is a new earthing stud mounting system, comprising a two-piece
fastener based on the company's SBF stud range. Easier and cheaper to
install than riveted, welded or threaded counterparts, this fastening
method is suitable for water-tight components fabricated from metal sheet
up to 1.35mm thick, including domestic appliances and vehicle body panels.
Once installed, the syud provides a nominal 3.5mm stand-off from the base
panel, thus avoiding the risk of unwanted contact with finished surfaces.
The fastener is manufactured in mild steel with a trivalent zinc
passivated finish, and is available in two lengths for single or multiple
earth connections.
