Pittman has introduced a custom winding service to widen the choice
available to dc motor purchasers. As a result, you can now match a
Pittman motor more precisely to your application's speed and torque
requirements. In addition to the four standard catalogue windings
available for each motor range (typically 12, 19, 24 and 30.3V) and
non-catalogue standard windings ranging from 6 to 90V, the company
manufactures customer specified dc motor windings in a variety of wire
gauges, using a range of winding techniques.
Thus customers requiring high torque at low speed can obtain a custom
wound motor with more windings of thinner gauge wire, while those needing
lower torque at high speed can specify less winding turns and thicker
gauge wire.
