From this month, Wittenstein's alpha SP+ and alpha TP+ gearboxes are receiving upgrades which will make them look slightly different without changing external and connecting dimensions. The technical specifications are already available online and in the 2009 printed Wittenstein (alpha) catalogue. The new-look gearboxes offer 25% more torque handling capacity, considerably raising their power density.
Wittenstein's new cymex V3.2 servo sizing tool, which features an integrated calculator for energy consumption can be used to help implement alpha applications.
New design configurations also include a reduced inertia option, SP+ with extreme high speed option and SP+ with hollow (shrink disc) output.
