Compressed Air Saving Starts With Flow Measurement

If you are one of the many compressed air users striving to reduce their energy costs in the wake of the Climate Change Levy, then you may be interested in a new product from PVL that greatly simplifies air flow measurement, as well as reducing its cost. The portable ClimaAir system comprises a probe, which is inserted into the centre of the pipe via an in situ ball valve and coupled to a hand-held display unit. The measuring end of the probe houses a turbine running on sapphire bearings, plus temperature and pressure sensors. Once the probe has been position in the pipe, the display unit prompts the user to enter the shape of the pipe and its diameter. It then measures and displays air velocity, temperature and pressure, and calculates and displays the air flow rate. Readings are logged by the instrument and can be downloaded to a PC for trending and analysis. PVL can also supply a continuous monitoring system comprising a desktop instrument with multiple probe inputs. Enter 388
