The new BLF Series from Oriental Motor combines a brushless dc motor with a compact digital controller, to provide a high output, flat torque, good speed stability and energy saving operation - characteristics well suited to conveyor applications. The controller offers full driver functions and allows users to choose up to eight different speed settings using four speed-setting methods. It also offers three speed display modes and allows various protection functions to be specified.Two models are available complete with gearheads, one of which is a hollow shaft, flat gearhead for unobtrusive conveyor installation. Both gearheads are rated to 10,000 hours at 3,000rpm. A third model offers a round shaft for custom installations or direct-drive applications. The motor delivers 120W from a 90mm frame size across the 80-4,000rpm speed range, and both motor and digital controller are rated up to IP65 when an optional remote control is used.
