Oriental Motor has upgraded the environmental protection rating for its
FPW ac motor range from IP65 to IP67, following evidence of the last four
years that the unit was capable of the higher specification without any
further modification. According to Oriental's Mark Checkley, the motors
actually exceed the IP67 specification because immersion testing is
conducted continuously, not just for 30 minutes as required by the
standard. Similarly, Oriental's AXU and AXH series brushless motor ranges
have been upgraded from IP54 to IP65.
