Colour Sensor Now With Analogue Output

Omron has introduced an analogue output version of its E3MC RGB colour sensor, which provides three separate 0-10V signals corresponding to red, green and blue. From this information the actual colour being detected can be deduced, the result being unaffected by ambient temperature, brightness or position of sensed objects. Optional extras include models with integral amplifiers for long distance setting, and versions with fibre heads for tiny spot sensing. Sensing distance for the former is 60mm and the device tolerates +/-10mm variation in the sensing surface. The latter offers a 20mm sensing distance with a +/-4mm threshold. All models are IP66 protected.
