The reading of barcodes and 2D codes usually requires different systems - a classic scanner for barcode reading and a camera for 2D codes. The new LSIS 120 series from Leuze Electronic combines barcode and 2D code reading in a single unit, reducing complexity and installation time. At only 40mm wide and 32mm high, the compact LSIS 120 is easily fitted into tight spaces, whilst its M12 connection and metric mounting thread speed installation. Designed for industrial use it has a robust metal housing with a glass window and IP65 rating.
The 1.23 megapixels camera can read all common barcode and 2D codes omnidirectionally – they do not need to be arranged in a specific orientation. A large reading field is obtained by wide angle optics. The device is connected via RS232 or USB interfaces.
