Ball Transfer System Speeds Up Production

Alwayse Engineering has come up with a neat solution to the transfer of heavy dies in a fast moving manufacturing environment. The custom-built ball transfer table is capable of moving up to 700kg tools from a standby storage line into or out of a press. Die lifter ball units are fitted into the press bed, enabling transfer of dies from the ball table, which is hinged to swing back when a die is in place and production is due to commence. The die lifters allow easy and accurate die positioning, and once the die is in place the lifters depress. Prior to this arrangement, the company used a forklift truck to move the dies around. Needless to say, the die changeover time is now considerably less, with consequent cost savings for the manufacturer.
