IP67 connector 'tells' you when it is tightened to the correct torque

Few people realise that to achieve a water tight seal with an IP67 connector, you don’t just screw it down as tight as you can, the correct torque is required. Turck Banner's new M12Nm connector is believed to be the first plug-in connector that can easily be assembled with a defined torque without the aid of a torque wrench. The connector is coupled in the usual way and easily tightened by hand. When the defined torque is reached, the user hears and feels the lock bush ‘click’ feedback. This stops connectors being tightened too much or too little which would result in a leaky connection or a damaged O-ring.
