The Stober KS right-angle servo geared motors are suitable for all modern servo technology applications, particularly those with high dynamics or continuous duties at high speeds. The units offer low backlash and smooth running – even at high speeds – and are available in three sizes (along with three output shaft versions) with torque capaities up to 400Nm. The combined motor and gear unit eliminates the need for motor adapter and coupling, giving higher dynamics, thanks to to lower mass moments of inertia, and reduced size and weight.
Smooth running is achieved by a novel gearbox design, which includes an initial helical planetary stage that allows the output bevel gear stage to revolve at much lower speeds than traditional configurations. The three output shaft options include:
► Solid shaft
► Hollow shaft with shrink disk as slip-fit version
► Flanged hollow shaft for central routing of supply lines
The complete KS drive ensures that the motor and output axis are in one plane and there is no offset as with hypoid gears. The built-on flange is square, enabling several drives to be positioned adjacent to one another with minimum clearance. The flange size and screw-on hole circle have been designed to guarantee axial accessibility without contour interference, which in turn reduces assembly times.
In addition to the square flange with through holes, the KS drives have a tapped hole circle as alternative fixing. The clearance from the flange mounting area to the motor axis is designed to prevent the occurrence of any contour interference with the machine geometry.
