NSK boasts 'widest' range of corrosion resistant bearings NSK has introduced an extensive range of corrosion resistant bearings within its Spacea series. These are divided into nine main types, each offering graduated performance levels, depending upon application and operating conditions. Four bearing types cover uses in water-based environments; three are suitable for alkali and weak acids and the remaining two for strong acid environments. The four bearing types for water-based environments include stainless steel, hybrid (steel/ceramic), 'Moulded Oil' (solid lubricant) and fluoride low temperature chrome plated bearings. The three bearings for alkali and weak acid environments include precipitation hardened stainless steel, nickel-alloy coated and all-ceramic types. Meanwhile for strong acids, alkalis and corrosive gases, the bearing constructions include carbide-based materials and fluororesins.
