GGB now offers its DB self-lubricating, maintenance-free bearing material for heavy-duty applications, such as the offshore industry, underwater equipment, bridges and civil engineering, iron and steel industry equipment, cranes and conveyors, mining equipment and construction and earthmoving equipment.
The DB material delivers excellent performance under high loads and intermittent operation. Its structure consists of cast bronze with graphite- free solid lubricant inserts which exhibit a lower wear rate and longer service life than graphite. This structure provides an ultra-low coefficient of friction, maximum wear resistance, long service life and absolute corrosion resistance, even in wet, dirty environments and exposure to seawater.
DB bearings can withstand a maximum static load of 200 MPa and a dynamic load of 100 MPa. Recommended maximum sliding speed dry is 0.5m/s. Maximum pU factor is 1.5 MPa x m/s. Operating temperature range is -50oC to +350 oC. Coefficient of friction dry is 0.05-0.18. Recommended shaft
surface finish Ra is 0.2-0.8 µm.
The DB material is available as cylindrical and flanged bushes, thrust washers, self-aligning bearings, sliding plates and custom spherical bearings for hydropower applications.
