National Instruments' widely used graphical instrumentation software,
LabVIEW can now be integrated with motion control applications using a
revised version of its ValueMotion software.
Shown for the first time last month at Drives & Controls, the ValueMotion
Virtual Instrument (VI) Library revision allows the user to implement the
full command set of motion control functions for the company's servo and
stepper motor control boards, in LabVIEW.
The software includes high-level example and functional application VIs
for set-up, initialisation and multi-axis motion control. The multi-axis
motion VIs, in particular, provide integrated, high-level functionality,
greatly reducing the amount of programming required for most typical
motion applications.
