NI Extends Labview To Control System Design And Simulation

National Instruments' LabVIEW graphical development environment now extends to the design, implementation and testing of control systems. Several new toolkits have been added, featuring graphical tools such as root-locus and Bode plots to aid the design of a host of applications, from adaptive cruise control to precision machine control systems. Also included are a simulation module and state diagram toolkit, which can be used to verify controller performance and simulate their dynamics offline, or implement them in real time hardware. The integral I/O capability and determinism of LabVIEW allows these models to be downloaded to real time targets for rapid prototyping and embedding, using NI's CompactRIO FPGA based system, or hardware-in-the-loop testing using real time PXI targets.
