You can now make precision audio and vibration measurements across a bandwidth of 45kHz and with 120dB dynamic range, using National Instruments' new NI 4472 module, which is designed for the PXI (rugged Compact PCI) backplane format. PXI products are completely compatible with the CompactPCI industrial computer standard and offer a number of advantages for measurement systems, including star trigger bus features, which ensure synchronisation between modules with less than one nanosecond of skew. Other features include eight simultaneously sampled analogue input channels, programmable ICP conditioning for accelerometers and microphones, and connectivity to NI LabVIEW, Measurement Studio and LabVIEW Sound and Vibration Toolset software suites for advanced signal analysis.
