ANSYS has released ANSYS12.0, an engineering simulation platform and integrated technology that supports the company's 'Simulation Driven Product Development' environment. The new software suite supports fast product design and validation in a complete, highly usable virtual environment that captures complex and coupled physical phenomena — providing a high degree of confidence in product designs. ANSYS 12.0 allows engineers to access great depth and breadth of technology to compress their design processes, while reducing the time and money invested in physical prototype development and testing.
At the heart of the new software is the ANSYS Workbench 2.0 platform, a flexible simulation environment that allows engineers to set up, visualise and manage simulations. The environment captures and automates repeatable processes, allows what-if scenarios to be investigated, and allows users to optimise their designs across multiple physical phenomena.
The complete range of dynamic behaviour can be investigated, from frequency response to large overall motion of nonlinear, flexible multibody systems. The suite encompasses a broad solver portfolio from structural mechanics to fluid dynamics to thermal analysis to electromagnetics. And these individual capabilities are also virtually seamless in their connectivity to one another. This connectivity enables ANSYS 12.0 software to deliver a true 'multiphysics' capability that supports accurate and realistic simulations of product performance.
