National Instruments' FieldPoint intelligent industrial I/O system can now be supplied with high speed Ethernet communications. The FP-1600 Ethernet interface features 10 or 100Mbit/s communication rates and TCP/IP compatibility, plus an embedded data server with event driven communications FieldPoint Ethernet I/O systems can be configured to transmit data only when the data value changes, thus reducing network traffic. On each Ethernet node, systems developers can use a single network module to interface with up to nine FieldPoint I/O modules.
