Power product line-up to target high volume, cost-sensitive markets

XP Power has introduced the VCT60 series of 60 Watt, single output AC/DC power supplies, the first of its new V-Brand range of low cost power supplies. Fitting into a standard 1U space, measuring 2 x 4 x 0.95 inches (50.8 x 101 x 24.1 mm) the units are ideal for designers requiring an economical power supply that can fit into an industry standard 2 x 4² footprint.

The first product in the family, the 60 Watt open-frame VCT series, comprises 10 single output models that provide popular nominal output voltages from +5 to + 30 VDC. Having a no-load power consumption less than 0.5 Watt, using the VCT60 helps compliance with internationally recognised energy saving initiatives.

The VCT60 can deliver 125% of rated power for up to 30 seconds. Designers need not specify a higher rated unit when additional power is only needed for short periods. This saves space and cost.

Operating from -10 degrees C to +70 degrees C, the convection cooled VCT60 series can provide full output power up to +50 degrees C. No additional heatsinking or forced airflow is required; again saving space and the cost of extra cooling components.

The units comply with the EN55022, level B standard for both conducted and radiated emissions without the need for additional filtering components. Overvoltage, overload and short-circuit protection features are included as standard across the whole range.

The VCT60 is priced at $21.00 each for OEM quantities. Available now, they can be purchased from Newark or direct from XP Power.
