Now available in the UK from Motor Technology is the 'extra-large'
Dynabox XL servo-gearbox from Girard Transmissions. Capable of delivering
up to 8,000Nm of torque and offering ratios of up to 90:1, the XL is
supplied in two versions: a 'medium precision' unit with backlash fixed
at 5 arc minutes, and an 'expert unit that allows the backlash to be
adjusted to less than 0.5 arc minutes.
These right-angle gearboxes accommodate input speeds from 4,000rpm
(continuous) to 6,000rpm (peak), and will tolerate axial and radial
loading in excess of 70,000N. Three frame sizes are offered - 125, 160
and 200mm (centre-centre) - and the come with a choice of hollow or solid
input shaft.
